Title: Fuel Filter
Post by: TheBALDpuma on July 14, 2023, 07:44:14 am
As far as I can see there is no official interval for changing these - what kind of intervals do you guys change yours at?

Also, are you changing air filters every 10k or 20k?

every 20 for me. It's a cheap part and easy to change so a no brainer for me.

I change mine every year along with all the other filters although I'm sure that it's probably overkill.

Every 20k miles is good...although I've seen VW recommends every 30k miles. I have mine on my own schedule for every 25k miles.

I did mine every year, or 20K miles.

Two reasons for that.

1) Cut one open and see how black it is inside! Fuel is filthy.

2) It keeps the bundy fittings 'exercised' so they come off easily. They are notorious for seizing on and falling apart if you wrestle them too hard, which will result in an entire new fuel line, front to back, and huge £££s.

And a 3rd reason actually, that pesky fuel filter clamp screw likes to rust to pieces if it's left to rot under there.
