Title: Engine removal
Post by: Beanbox19844 on July 16, 2023, 12:42:05 pm
Afternoon all

I'm going too be replacing the engine soon on the car. It has a dsg setup however what's the easiest way too remove the engine.

Is it easy enough to split the engine and gearbox in the car and just remove the engine or is it easier to just take the engine and gearbox out as one.

If its a case of leaving the box in place, what do you need to remove for it to split from the engine

Cheers all

Allen

I think if I was in your position I'd remove the front off the car and take the engine and box out as one unit from the front.

I've already removed the front of the car. If I was to remove the whole lot is it a case of release the drive shafts, unclipped the dsg cables and then it comes out? Battery was put on as I needed to roll the car forward and get my transit out the way

This is how it currently is
