Title: Alarm fault code 01134
Post by: slynch23 on August 06, 2023, 05:28:10 pm
My alarm has been going off randomly for about a week. Causing mayhem, waking the street up. Tried to get it in somewhere this week but everyone is fully booked. I ordered OBDeleven to check it myself and it came up with 2 codes alarm horn no signal/communication and alarm horn lower limit not reached.

Does this mean the siren is knackered? I’m not fussed about having an alarm to be honest so is there anyway to just code it out using OBDeleven?

Also, does anyone know how to lock the car but not activate the alarm? Will disconnecting the battery work? It’s a 2011 mk6 GTI. I know this is the mk5 page but the mk6 part is dead and they’re basically the same car haha

That code usually means the car can't talk to the siren, which is usually because the battery inside it is dead.  OEM ones are well over £100 I believe, and blind riveted into place.  Cheapy aftermarket ones might work.

Mine used to go off as well, but no siren, just flashing hazards.  I'm sure I disabled it somehow, but can't remember how   I think I might have turned it off with the long coding helper in VCDS, it was years ago.

Also make sure no bugs are flying around inside the car triggering the ultrasonics.  That's happened to me a few times as well

For anyone who is interested or having this code - the siren was knackered. I had it coded out as didn’t want to pay £200+ to have a pointless alarm
