I also own a Skoda Karoq which was due a cambelt as it's 5 years old. However Skoda have recently changed their advice on when to change - they now don't specify a time, but advise doing it at 140k for my engine.
I was curious if it was the same for VAG cars, and looks like the advice on the VW site now also just states mileage and not time. Sort of brings it all in line with what the user manual says.
Anyone heard the same? Thoughts?

I change mine religiously every four years or 40k miles. Whichever comes soonest

Yup, every 40-50K miles. It's not just the rubber belt that wears and perishes over time, the water pump bearings can go, as can the tensioner bearings.
