Evening all,
First time post on here so be nice, Mk5 golf 2006 diesel, i lost a key a while back and never replaced it thinking it would turn up, but it didnt!
Now the other key has been lost for nearly a week. I need to source a new key next week as its not looking good for finding either. Will this be a main dealer job or any other suggestions as to the best source, will i need to sell a kidney before ringing VW,? looking for the cheapest posible fix as the car has nearly 300k on it and is only the farm run around, cheers

Try a local locksmith before going to VW

If you can get inside you'll need to remove the dash and go to somebody who can disable your immobilizer. I believe you can start it up with any mk5 key afterwards. Sucks. No idea how much it would cost via VW but they're trying to charge 1k eur for a middle resonator pipe still... total money hungry pigs they are.

They remove the ECU and solder something to the board physically. No idea if you can do it via software alone. You need to find a guy who does them over where you're at.
