Hi i have a 3 door mk5 gti 07 with the n/s door latch requirs replacement. I thinking to get a used one but wanted to know if the door latches on a 5 door are sames at the 3 doors?

From memory when I had to do mine, the 5door front units are same as 3 door. I had to do both mine in short space of time, and I'd suggest biting the bullet and ordering an OEM part. I have one OEM and one spurious, and the spurious one doesn't work as well as the OEM. It can be sticky and clunky. Its a tricky enough job, plenty of guides and help on forums. I'd recommend a second pair of hands too when lifting on and off the door skin.
