Title: What is this connector that's missing a wire?!
Post by: Dumbguyjoe on June 26, 2024, 06:06:10 am
Hey guys. Just under the car today working on leaking CV boot and noticed this clip with both ends of the wire cut off?! One wire is connected but the other is just clipped both sides- I've circled in red.

Also this isn't connected to anything - circled in green. Is it... The starter motor? It looks like the ground for whatever that is... it's not connected... Anyone got a clue what these are?

2009 mk5 GTI. Everything is running and working except the AC and the windscreen washers.

Thanks!;

Looks aftermarket to me, as do not recall seeing anything like that connector in the engine bay

I agree, maybe some kind of aftermarket / homemade starter inhibitor?

Hmm okok thanks guys. I'll explore some more. There was previously an amp for a sub installed... Maybe it was something to do with that?

Any idea what that green circled thing is? Looks like whatever it is just ain't grounded...
