Title: Sports cat recommendation for bwa with k03
Post by: chrimbo on February 21, 2025, 05:31:49 pm
Appreciate a recommendation for sports cat for my mk5 with bwa and k03.

Searched everywhere for a type approved one but can't find one. Does anyone know whether it's possible to get a sports cat for a mk5 that's type approved?

Should I even worry about whether it's type approved provided it passes an emissions test? Good to get your thoughts.
Cheers.

I bought a magnaflow 200 cel for mine and had it welded in (worked out the cheapest option doing it this way), passed 3 mots but then failed, I think this is the most you can hope for with the majority of them. I’ve heard BCS powervalve are one of the best but you will pay a premium.

I've got a BCS 200 cell sports cat that is still passing the MOT after 9 years (touch wood).

That’s impressive, proves it’s worth paying for quality if you plan on keeping the car for a long time.

Impressive! Is that one of these then? https://www.powervalve.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=884

Yes it is the 200 cell version.  It cost a bit less 9 years ago ;-)
