Title: Air con not working - does the compressor stop working if sensor is dodgy?
Post by: dave1814 on June 26, 2025, 04:35:38 pm
Hi guys,

For anyone that's had a bad high pressure sensor issue, did you compressor still spin in the center or does the car automatically cut it off to protect it?  Mines not spinning when the aircon is on.

I've got the error...

00229 - Refrigerant pressure.

002 - lower limit exceeded.

thanks!
Dave

Pretty sure it doesn't run to protect the compressor.

Judging by the code you have a leak .

Thanks.

It's only just been regassed so I'm thinking it could be the sensor?

Replaced a few of them sensors back in the day so possible.

Of course depending on severity of leak it could be that too.

IIRC the sensor is 2 wire so try bridging it with a paper clip and see if comp. cuts in.
