Evening all…
Has anyone had any experience with sticky turbo vanes?
I’ve Bought a cheap GT sport 140bhp to run around in and it has all the usual symptoms of sticky vanes, I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on budget solution to it without having to buy a new/recon turbo?
And does anyone no if I replace the turbo nozzle ring with a new one then can the turbo just be refitted and it will work/perform as it should or will it need “setting up” after?
Cheers

Those are pretty easy to pull apart and clean. Other than that give her the beans as much as you can. And I mean the turbo you don't have to be going fast just a lot of aggressive 2nd gear pulls

I did remove and clean a VNT 1.9 TDI turbo years ago that had sticking vanes on a Ford Galaxy with the VAG 1.9 lump , nothing needed setting up.
