Title: Looking for help to source a DSG Gearbox
Post by: SP02 on October 07, 2025, 03:02:28 pm
Honestly can’t find one anywhere, 55 plate mk5 GTI , been off the road over a month now . Don’t really have the money to recondition this year so a second hand one is needed . Local to Coventry / West Midlands .

Any help is appreciated.

What issue(s) are you seeing with your present gear box?

Car is driving for around 10-15 minutes then going into limp mode. R tech have had a look at it & said it needs a whole new box , a family friend’s vw specialist has said it needs a new mechatronics unit aswell. Got the flashing PRNDS when this happens.

Best of luck. Out of interest how many miles has it done? And has it had dsg services on time?

I suggest you have a chat with these guys before you replace anything.

Got the car back on the road Sunday just gone . Thank you so much for the suggestion. Sent it off to ecu testing, got it back within 3 days. Car back to normal again after being off the road for 2 months+

What was wrong with it in the end, expensive fix?
