Hi all, I'm trying to install a CAE into my FSI engine MK5.
I'm unable to remove the rear airbox/engine cover mounting studs WHT000898A near the firewall, using a deep 24mm socket just causes both to spin in place - plastic internals might have stripped.
Has anyone been able to resolve this issue without resorting to destructive methods? I don't really have any concrete strategies as to how I'll get those mounts out.
I'd appreciated any advice, I'm relatively inexperienced with working on cars.

I recall there being an allen key hole in the centre........it was a long time ago when I took that off for access though

Hey mjamallia sorry for the late reply, a bunch of other things on the car decided to stop working.
Turns out that there's a hex nut holding the mounts in place on the rear, so I just held them in place with a wrench and managed to take the mounts off using the 24mm socket. I checked the mount centers, they do not have an Allen key hole but damn that would've made the job easier.
Thanks again for your time!
