hi all
was any body else disapointed with how quiet the non res turbo back system is ? when i fitted mine last week i was hoping for more of a roar when you opened up the gti but nope i think its as quiet as a mouse lol im even thinking of changing back box for a smaller one
-
Did you look at any other systems or did you go straight in and buy a Milltek?
-
my piper was quite noticably louder than tfsi mikes non res miltek.
-
the miltek came up for a steal of a price so i didnt think twice about buying it
-
Once coked up the noise will change!
-
sell the system to me and go get a blueflame instead :P

How much of a difference does it make when its been used for a while?
I was originally going to go 100% for the milltek but after reading threads such as this one im very tempted to go for a Blueflame or if funds allow APR :happy2:
-
I've got a milltek res centre section mated to a scorpion back box and it sounds great! Louder than standard by a great deal but not too much that it drives you mental

He's right. give it a couple thousand miles and then ask yourself again.
It will sound more of a deeper , raspy noise, rather then abit breathless when its new and also looses it "boomy charactistic" at higher speeds.
-
are we talking non res here ? i had resonated cat back and it was soooo quiet swapped center section to non res and it sounds great so with tbe i would expect more noise still :surprised:

Generally, the Resonated Milltek versions are relatively quiet. Milltek's intention is to offer a performance exhaust without too much noise and the Non-Res version is for those of us who prefer a bit more noise.
As others have said, the sound will mature. The APR and Blueflames are louder but harsher. It just depends on what you like best.

Are you remapped? It does get lounder when you plant the pedal when its remapped.
