....Dunno, but I'm sure they've been working on it. I might get a message from Mr Milly later today.
Will be going to some other weekends in the series but not decided which yet.
I better dash and put the telly on..
-
hopefully shaun's on the grid as he didn't post a time at all in Qualifying so will be starting last.
-
thanks for the heads up mate ! :happy2:
-
....
Shaun finished 14th out of 20 in first race - A good and encouraging result methinks :happy2:
-
....
Just had a txt from Mr Milly: "Wow! That was nerve racking but we finished!"
-
....
Just had a txt from Mr Milly:
Tell him I like his R32 pipework.

Shaun off on first lap of 2nd race today.. Damage to door and sill.. Car not steering straight now :sad1:
Dunno yet if fixable for last race of the day.
-
Latest from the circuit:
Should be fixable.. New door skin and exhaust going on now.
Wishing the team good luck for the last race today
-
are there only two races today????? my sky only seems to have recorded the two races.
-
are there only two races today????? my sky only seems to have recorded the two races.
3rd race is online on itv.com at 4.45pm as they've had to cut the BTCC on ITV4 to cover the IPL Cricket final!!!!!
EDIT: but the coverage has just stopped citing "technical problems" so i hope they bloody fix it by 4.45pm!!!!
-
thank you very much i shall get that sorted now. i had literally just switched to ITV4+1 to see if it was on there

....And also 3rd race in full at 9:00pm on ITV4.
Tough this racing lark, isn't it.

....
The day's racing ended with Shaun finishing 14th - Encouraging in the circumstances. Brands full GP circuit next weekend.
Some great racing to watch overall in the BTCC today :driver::driver: :driver:
-
interesting u think that RR....i thought it was ok
but the boys over on SCN thought it was rather dull and quite frankly...boring!
:signLOL:

tbh i lost interest in watching him as he is so far off the pace, and there is also hardly any coverage of the cars at the back of the grid.
Boardmans leon was getting a good bit of coverage before he was swiped off the track. It shows the chassis has the potential to be stuck in the action

....Perhaps at my age the thrills are more easily felt
As for "the boys over on SCN" I can't say I've ever been particularly impressed by their views. Doubtless why I rarely post there, though I don't like the way it's run anyway. The Seat Cupra guys who frequent here are much better.

....True but it's very early days and a small privateer team. We'll see if they can improve.
Yes, it pissed me off a bit that ITV4 only focus on the first 10 though Shaun did get some visual coverage and positive commentary at the start of the 3rd race. Viewers only want cut 'n thrust action though - I understand that.
-
he did have a full 5 mins of question time bit tho of him and Matt Hamilton???

....Ah yes, I forgot about that. As I know some of the team I am naturally rooting for their success. However, no-one is expecting them to win races but we'd all like to see them make the top 10.

-
his wife has a cayenne. shaun has a black octy vRS with stage 2 AMD on it. i know ive driven it. plus he admitted live on TV earlier today i the interview
-
^^^^
His wife is very nice isn't she. I met the whole family at Thruxton and gave her a copy of my music CD. Doubtless it gets played in the Cayenne. Shaun already knew my music - Wow! I must be famous!

Round3 @ Brands Hatch this weekend.
16th after first practice. Car running well. Track is dry.
18th after second practice but rear screen shattered early on and film held it in place. They're hoping for 17th or better in quali.
-
I contemplated going today but didn't as the weather was suspect. :ashamed:

Has been sunny but now getting cloudy. Possibly a wet quali.

.... Nope. Phil txt's me updates because I'm interested and then I share them here for anyone else who's interested.
I will be attending another BTCC race with them though.

....
Latest update from the AmDMilltek team is finishing 19th in quali after being 17th. Was overcast and a wet race is forecast for tomorrow.
-
how do they rate their cars wet handling. if its tail happy in the dry it cpuld be a nightmare in the wet. I wander if there will be dodgy ture calls accross the field like there was last week, it made for some entertaining racing

....They feel they have improved the handling slightly and Shaun did very well in a wet race (or was it quali) at Thruxton. Being at the back of the field he may be better able to avoid any carnage and do well by default as well as care.
Of course, much depends on how wet and tyre selection. If this car ever does well I think it will take time. They are a relatively small privateer competing with the best and who have far bigger budgets and resources.
-
It was damp for quali and practice at Thruxton Robin.

Brands Hatch update:
After starting from 10th row in very wet conditions and holding position, a driveshaft pulled out and Shaun had to retire from today's first race. They'll be back for the next race today.

Final update from Brands:
After finishing 14th in Race2 they found a large bunch of fibreglass parts came off after an off. Then water pump was gone, so end of their racing this weekend.
Another day, another race..
The rest of the racing on ITV4 from the comfort of my armchair has been great.
Signing off,
RR

Opps.....
Im guessing this is when the Water pump might of failed soon after?
-
^^^^
Yep, and they sorted all that body damage out but then had the final problem. Such is motor racing.
-
.
Back racing.. Snetterton.. ITV4.
Finished 16th in first race in spite of alternator failure just before the start, and didn't finish last!
Gradually improving.
-
 :sleepy: thought they would have been further up than they are to be honest
-
I know the engine has just come back from a rebuild but they still seem down on the horses. :sad1:
