Title: Just collected my steel grey GTI
Post by: Pullafacial on April 30, 2010, 07:17:06 pm
Hi,

Just collected my 05 steel grey GTI and I love it!
swapped in my  GT TDI 140 and now realize how much i've missed petrol turbo engines.
Just need to sort the Monza's out as they are badly corroded, (Not sure what finish to go for) lower it and colour code the bumpers.

Anyone had a problem with mirror coming unstuck?
Mines come away one side and seems to be effecting auto wipers, dealer will sort it I suppose.

You mean the internal mirror is coming off? That's pretty strong glue.

Will get some pics sorted over the next coupleof days.
Looks pretty standard but has a few bits that i presume are extra like leather, xenons, auto lights/wipers, changer and 18" Monza's. Spec said it had cruise but can't see any controls for it.

And yeah, rear view mirror is coming off! think I may have made it worse by trying to get a sticky pad behind it!
Garage having a look tuesday for me.

Anyone suggest a way of having my wheels re-done so they look like standard but not polished? (Can't be arsed to have them done every year!) Or should I just go dark grey/matt black??

The cruise control is on the indicator stalk, like two little buttons at the end.

140 to Gti seems the natural progression these days!

Just been giving the GTI a bit of a going over and it seems the more I look, the more stone chips and little marks I see!
Nothing major but will have to get them done cause it'll really bug me.

Could really do with some help on the wheels guys, can't make a decision on what to do with them.
Think they're gonna have to be painted due to the up keep of standard finish.

If anyone could send me pics of their steel grey GTI with 18" monza's in different finishes it would be great.

Somebody tell me what I should do!!!!!!

Blacks the way i'm leaning at the moment although maybe anthracite.
Feels like a really big decision as I think wheels can make or break a car.
