Title: GTI Splitter on all GTIs?

Hi,
Do all GTIs as standard have a front splitter??
Is this as standard body colour painted or black painted or black plastic?

Does it cause you much of a problem for ground clearance anywhere such as near kerb pavements?

Reason i ask is because i've got a GT TDI (old pre facelift 04 plate) and am using a GTI conversion bumper with built in splitter. I'm removing the GTI elements though and going custom.

So just wondering about this splitter!

The splitter is black unpainted plastic.

And yes all GTI's come with the lower splitter.

I've supplied and fitted one for a friend on their GT and she hasn't had any problems with clearance as the GT sits higher anyway. Not heard of any clearance issues on the GTI either  :happy2:

I'm concerned as my GT TDI is standard with 16" alloys and no side skirts etc that the front might seem to low or something?
Was your friend's standard other than this? In you opinion did it look good?

To be honest unless you knew it was there you wouldn't notice! I think it looks really good, plus it's cheap and bolts straight on! I'll try and get a pic tomorrow for you  :happy2:

I did the same thing to my GT, and didnt fit the splitter, as below:
