Thats fantastic, you need to check your shoes though as they obviously don't have enough lead in them

I struggle to get that in my TDI :sad1:

Too much lead in your shoes Matt? :jumping: :innocent:

That is very impressive! Under what conditions did you achieve this? Down hill with a tail wind? I am lucky if I get 30-35mpg. I try to be good but the car makes me do it!

Not quite, my MPG is suffering badly at the minute (lucky to even see 40mpg on a motorway :sad1:). Its quite 'heavily' mapped and the flywheel is on it's way out which I have been told won't be helping things!

I get the same but remembered getting more previously so a couple of weeks back i did a 12 mile drive taking it as easy as i could. No turbo, straight to 6th gear and cruising in country lane traffic between 50-60 mph. From cold, i achieved 41.8mpg and it was increasing the more i drove. I'd imagine 38-39 is easily achievable if you lose the driving passion on a day to day basis but hey, if thats the case we should be in diesels

Conditions -
dry pm.
On the motorway - no wind, nor downhill, in fact in some cases, was uphill
Not light foot either. AT worst, when I CANE it , I get circa 25 mpg.
Car is engine-wise, totally standard. Needs a service though
