Title: Shell V-Power Card
Post by: rdfcpete on May 08, 2010, 01:38:10 pm
Received mine this morning guys as I've been given one for some reason, after using my yellow Shell drivers reward card for x many months.

The only thing I'd like to know is in all the time I've had the yellow one (well over 6 months), I've never received anything through the post with any vouchers or points and I'd estimate I've spent arounddd... I mean, we're talking at least £400 minimum in that time. Is that not many points at all thus no vouchers, or have I got a problem with receiving my points?

I understand that like the club-card points, you get a review and points score quarterly which means I should've had at least one, if not two by now?  :sad1:  :chicken:

Thanks,
Pete.

Have you logged into the shell website and selected how you would like the points translated? Mine turn into vouchers for next/Argos etc etc

Just logged in VC. I've registered online now but I can't find anywhere a 'current points' or 'earned points' section? It's a really unintuitive site tbh  :fighting:

Not just me then? I'll ring customer services when I'm at work on Monday and ask wtf it's all about.

I've been on the V-Power card since it started and convert all its benefits into vouchers for more V-Power.
Results in a free tankful sometimes  :pomppomp: :jumpmove: :star:

Gah I stupidly started with air-miles on my card then a month ago moved to BA Air Miles .. pretty cack for those tbh I might change again for vouchers as I spend at least £60-80 a week on the good stuff!

Can you transfer points to other cards? I have one and since selling the Golf not needed it. Also had a mate who recieved a staement, spent over £10k in 9 months on V-Power

I have a V-Power card, but hardly ever use it now - I usually fill up at Tesco (Then again I dont use VPower anymore since I have my Diesel Soot Chucker!)

Yeh there site is for want of another word shYYYte.
I had the same got a new card as they noticed I was using Vplus more often. Now they send me Next vouchers but hadn't had one for a while then got a free £10 voucher token which i redeemed against fuel. But I think tescos clubcard is better.

Mine runs a hell of a lot better on tesco 99. Used optimax and v power for years but it's far smoother on tescos finest. Only use v power as a last resort these days and it instantly feels flatter in comparison

What pisses me off is also having Shell cards for both Germany and France but the points aren't centrally collected so I don't get any benefit. We're supposed to be a European trade comunity FFS!

^^^
That's a Shell corporate decision, and nothing to do with the EU.

I must have quite a few points on my v-power card; I should see what I can do with it.

...mind you, I have 13,000 Nectar points - I should redeem them at some point. What can I get for 13,000 points?

....Yes, I contacted Shell about Euro points and got the unsatisfactory reply.

For 13,000 points you might get a Mac

Since moving, I haven't used T99 but when I did, I would switch between the two. I found that with V-power, there was an instant aggressive boost but that this quickly settled whereas T99 wasn't so aggressive but the power didn't drop off as quickly.

I thought that to get the vpower card, you had to use a certain quantity of fuel in a given timespan. If you met the criterion, a vpower card would be sent out.

Okay so if you drink more than 150 litres of v-power per quarter, you automatically get sent the vpower card (or at least the option to join).

I called up this morning mate (seems like the call centre on the 0845 number is located somewhere in Asia, Bangladeshi sounding gentleman picked up) and he explained I need 500 points before I'll receive a £2.50 voucher for money off @ Shell fuel.

If you've got 750 points and you've selected how you want them, then I'd definitely call as it seems you're not getting what you're entitle to?

£2.50 after 500 litres?

That's like 0.4% discount. Not really worth it is it?

....Not good ^. But it's not always that mean. I've had a free tankful before now but my mileage has dropped in recent months. Another excuse for a Noodleburgering trip.
