Do they make a difference? Is anyone on here running standard intake with Revo stage 2+/3 KO4 and notice any difference?
-
you only need to look at stevePs before ad after runs with his ITG when at stage 2+. And that was with a revo rep there to setup the revo settings to their optimum each time.

It will make some difference depending on the setup.

Simon please, even if an intake makes a difference, 40 bhp?!? The same as a remapp?!? Oh come on, seriously..,

Hedge ran his car with the OEM cover for most of the time he had it and it went very well. I think when he added an EVOMS there was a slight improvement but he chose to remove it again.
I ran EVOMS for quitee some time and can confirm that there are gains to be had however I ran my last S3 with the OEM intake and I don't envisage having an after market this time - Mainly due to the noise, I have decided I prefer more sedate power. I know, I know - It's my age!!

The OEM intake is massively restrictive. My Twintake made 26 BHP over OEM and my only other performance mod was Revo Stage 1.
You just need to look at the design of the OEM intake to see how restrictive it is...

When i added the Dbilas to at the time Stg2 Revo K04 it made +20hp on the same rollers.

No Deception there..... I was at the dyno during testing, at such a high level of tune i would expect to see 40HP yes, with a stage1 car i would expect to see 20-25hp depends on what spec you're running at the end of the day!
-
well there you go micky, , there are threads after threads confirming guys making 20+Hp(with dynos sheets) after fitting the twintake and ITG.
the gains are there to be had at that stage just as a standalone mod, but with proper adjustments to the MAP more is possible as you can run more boost and fuel etc which =more power pure and simple. granted with no map tweaks you wouldnt see that increase.
also bear in mind that those graphs were done back to back on a set of rollers so there is very little chance of error.

....
It depends on the individual package of mods a car has. My K03 Mk5 GTI gained just over 20bhp with a Forge Twintake over its previous Carbonio feeding stock airbox with ITG panel filter. Back-to-back dyno plots.
On Revo2 and consequently able to fine tune the settings to avoid needing an aftermarket fuel pump (I'd rather spend on something else and am satisfied with my current driveability).
That's one of the big advantages of Revo: Being able to fine tune B/T/F to allow for your different hardware mods. :notworthy:

They definetly help when stg1 and over. Only when they are designed properly tho. I think they add alot of needed character to our cars aswell. :happy2:
