Obviously the first thing to do is read the book and make a note of the important things:
Launch Control: Depress brake > DTC > DDC > M mode > 1st gear > Depress accelerator 'beyond resistance point' > flag symbol on dashboard > Release brake.
Neil

Veeeeeeerrrrrrryyyy nice choice Neil, looks mint, that intake doesn't look very efficient though. Do you know where there are any pictures/diagrams of the turbo? Be interesting to know what it looks like. Have you sold the Golf?
-
very nice, whats real life mpg like compared to the eddy?

Yeh there's alot of plastic under there, this face lift model only came out in March dout if anyones developed a new intake yet, havnt seen any pics of the new Turbo.
Just couldnt bring myself to sell the Golf, going to keep it as a track toy :happy2:
-
Very nice mate but if we get a winter like the last one you will be doing a lot of walking  :signLOL:
-

Its only done 100 miles so hard to tell but BMW claim 33.6 on a combined run so should be about the same which is quite impressive for a 3 Ltr turbo.

Thats not going to happen mate :signLOL:

Very nice car. We gave my mates 335 *cough* Diesel *cough* Touring a good run yesterday. Sitting against an 840 at 80-flat out there was nothing between the 2 cars, baring in mind the 8series was one manned and we were carrying 5 people and the kitchen sink. Very good engines with fantastic torque. And dont believe the fact they are limited to 155 either! and still averaged 38mpg!
Obviously the above took place on a private runway!

Wow, that's absolutely lovely, makes me miss my old e46 325Ci M Sport. The wing mirrors are less than elegant though. Do BMW offer any aftermarket ones?
-
Lucky bugger !

New EU regulations on mirror size for new cars  I was thinking the same.

I wondered whether there was any alternative in the BMW Performance catalogue but there doesn't seem to be. I know it's a regulation for new cars but I guess that doesn't apply to aftermarket upgrades.
I did happen upon the BMW Performance Sport Steering wheel whilst browsing the catalogue, as well as oodles of carbon goodies. Stay away if you have a sensitive wallet!

....
Shoo! Shoo!! Off with you, Neil! You're not welcome here any more! Especially when you post pics of such a beautiful machine. A car like that could tempt me back into a Beemer, but fortunately it wouldn't suit my needs. Very nice though and thanks for sharing.. Now eff off!

BMW haven't won so many engine awards for no reason. Stunning! :notworthy:

Thats mint. I hope you have some good security at your place, preying eyes and all that. I would be putting them security posts all over the place
-
Neil, that looks fookin' awesome   loving the red seat. :happy2:
-
Lovely looking car! The Beemer 3 Series Coupe is a car that I would like to have at somepoint.
Alex
-
That is lovely
-
:congrats:Nice, the rear brakes look tiny. Keeping that engine bay clean will be a breeze if your that way inclined .
I did see a option catalogue recently and its very thick.
-
Thanks for the comments, I'll get some video up soon the straight 6 sounds
-
Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry nice! The 335 has such an individual sound to it! I miss driving them so much from when I worked at BMW's UK HQ! The senior engineers at BMW said to me that whenever they got to about 700miles on the clock they would just constantly rag the engines (obviously when warmed up) up until around 1200 miles, to bed them in nicely. Then drive as normal.
More pics more pics more pics!!!!
Remap, intake, exhaust and you will have quite a machine there!
-
Very nice motor indeed Neil :happy2:
Tuning potential?
I heard they aren't quite as tuneable as the old twin turbo ones, but you never know
-
I'm probably not going to do much to it John, the idea was to keep the Ed30 to take it out on. :happy2:

Good idea, thats my plan when mine arrives, get a weekend toy!! You MUST get the performance grilles though, a must on an AW BMW. Wheels look great - they suit the coupe so well, my 269s turned up today.
My car is due on June 1st.
How are you finding the RFT's?

How are you finding the RFT's?
Well I was convinced the first thing was to ditch the RFT's, Mrs M has them on her 320d touring which is a sh*t ride (Edit: the car not the Mrs), but I've got to say I'm surprised by how good they are, their Bridgestone Potenza's, easily live with them till they need changing (PS3's ??).
I was using the Active Cruise Control for the first time today, 40 miles in traffic without touching the Brake or throttle, you dont trust it to brake to start with, it really freaks you out
The straight 6 is superb, sounds great, doesn't feel like turbo at all, looking forward to opening it up. I'll have to see how far the £75.00!! to fill it up gets me.
The only thing I dont like is the big fugly wing mirrors, spoil the whole look of the car.
Neil
Just seen the grilles in the BMW Performance brochure, look nice but I think they have changed the front slightly in the face lift model, may need new shape grilles.
269's are :happy2: not sure about the yellow brakes though.
-
They do a performance black grille for the face lifted saloon, I already have it! Im sure they do one for the coupe. Oh and they don't do the performance brakes for the 3 litre cars!
