Title: Dent removal
Post by: Pullafacial on May 12, 2010, 06:45:52 pm
Have a car park dent in the rear nearside arch about 2" above arch lip.
Anyone had any experiances with dent removal in that area as I have been told that it can't be done due to lack of access.

Cheers,

Steve

They guys that did ours said the only access was by drilling a small hole in the liner for access.
Sorted the dent out fine then filled the hole.
If you are in or arroound Leeds I can pass on their details.
Not the cheapest but they do work on real exotic stuff.

I had a similar one a few years ago in the same area. At first, the dent guy removed the rear light cluster but couldn't get his tools down far enough (oh er missues  :surprised:).

He then took the wheel off and partly removed the rear arch liner at it's front edge (the sort of carpeted thingy) and pulled it out a little. Behind it he found an access hole covered by a large rubber grommet. He removed the grommet and was able to reach the dent and sort it out no problem. Couldn't even tell where it was afterwards !

if its a double skinned panel it can sometimes be done buy a method used by dent devils which prob alike most paintless dent removal companies they glue small tacks to the dent and re-form the metal then tap it back into shape.i had a dent on my sill (thanks to vwtsc) and the guy i know sorted it no probs. pm me if you want details.
