Title: Upgrade to RCD-500??

Hi,

My GTI only has a single slot cd player and no cd changer in the glove box or arm rest. I would like the functionality of a six cd changer and wonder if anyone has any experience of changing the rcd-300 for an rcd-500?

My car is a 2005 "55" and ideally I just want something which will just be a straight swap without any need for complex wiring work or firmware upgrades.

Can anyone advise is this is possible and if it's a simple as being an rcd-500 from eBay and just swapping them?

As long as you have the code for the RCD500 it is a straight forward swap

Just follow the guides floating around for the RNS510 - removing the trim is the same
