Looking for advise, The A-Pillers on a MKV-GTi/R32 seem to be a nice high gloss finish, Is it possible to change the ones of my GT-TDi to these?
-
I think you mean B pillars and probably not easily.
-
You mean on the outside? I think Darren (mortygttdi) has done this.

Had to replace one of mine that was scratched it's not too difficult to change them over. You can buy the gloss versions from VW, then it's just a matter of removing the retaining screws and removing. Refitting is slightly harder as you need to be very careful with the window rubbers but if you take your time it will be fine.

Cheers for the quick replys, It was the B-Pillers i meant :stupid: Anyone know the part numbers for the hi-gloss ones?

Is it a 4 door or 2 door?

Its a 2door :happy2:

Very easy to replace them!
I did my drivers side one last weekend due to scratches. It took less than 5 mins to remove the old one and fit the new one :happy2:

i replaced mine too.
Very easy.
The ones on the "lower" models, like mine are pretty substantial Metal pieces. They weigh a tonne!
the shiny "gti" ones are plastic.

No they're not plastic! They're aluminium. I'm looking at the one sitting on my floor right now!

Unless they changed them on newer models? Unlikely, but possible. The ones on mine (and the new ones I bought from VW. Right side part no: 1K3 837 902 B 041) are and are very light.
I don't know whether they're painted or anodised, but the black coating is immensly tough. I have tried sanding it and by hand, you cannot touch it no matter what grade of abrasive paper I tried.

lol, i did order the mk6 ones to start! they were definitely plastic!
im sure the mk5 ones were too. I might be wrong! haha!
