Title: Sources for DS2500's and new brake parts.
Post by: snapey on May 16, 2010, 04:22:09 pm
Hi guys.

Basically today I've about finished off my OEM pads and disks after about 27K so I'm going to replace the entire set up.

Firstly am I right in thinking that for the way I'm going to be driving, fast road use and daily commuting that I'd be best off with standard VW disks, front and rear? and then teaming these up with a set of DS2500's (and if so what sources stock them because the ferodo website seems to be about as much use as..)? This seems to be the going set up for many people on here if I'm not mistaken.

Also would it be a considerable and worth while upgrade in purchasing a set of braided hoses from HEL or another source?

As you can tell from this post I'm a complete numpty with brakes and different combinations, set ups etc.

Any help would be very much appreciated, Luke.

Just PM DaveB of course there are plenty of options out there, but if you tell him your requirements, he will offer you a few different solutions, with good honest advice and can sort you out everything you need.  :happy2:

....

Luke, are you still after some DS2500 pads for the rear brakes?

I have some brand new, never fitted nor used which I could sell. I bought them before getting the S3 rear brakes and now don't need them.

Do you want me to work out a price?  :happy2:

Snapey, if you want to go for Ferodo consider DS Performance pads as well. For daily use (plus some occasional 'abuse') with OE discs, these are excellent pads and type approved for road use.

Camberley Auto Factors are UK distributor Ferodo and have branches all across Southern England if that helps. They also mail order I think.
