Just got a MKV DSG Gti and loving the effortless smoothness.
Before i plan any massive trips there is a voice inside telling me to get the car booked in and perform the following as a precautionary measure:
- change the cambelt as the car has done over 62k miles (£487)
- DSG Oil and filter (£175)
- Time / distance service (£175)
- Air con regassing and brake fluid change (£99)
Is there anything else i should look into and also does anyone have any recommendations for where to do the work? Birmingham VW have quoted me around £900 for all of the above.

Interesting!
However i am trying my best to resist going down the modification route. I am developing a strange interest in tyres though

The only problem I see is that you've joined a forum where members nearly all have a modding fetish
Welcome

Does the service history show the DSG oil being changed at 40k too?

Welcome!

Hi and Welcome.. :driver:

Thanks for the welcome all.
I can't find anything relating to a DSG oil change at 40k, so for my peace of mind i want to get all these keys things done.

That looks like the main things, only other items would be plugs which are a major service item, and specifying longlife oil with the T & D service, as this will offer better protection for the engine I was quoted an extra £15 plus VAT for the LL oil. And prices look comparable to the ones ive had for servicing recently, although your cambelt price is cheap for main dealers
Welcome along as well :happy2:

If your Brum based give Listers in Stratford a call as they are always good for a haggle! :happy2:
