Title: mk5 gt tdi cut out and feels lumpy
Post by: steve180179 on May 22, 2010, 05:16:37 pm: just travelled roughly 60 miles on motorway at 80-90mph in 27 degrees heat. Got to tolls slowed down to wait for car in front to pay then my car lost power and cut out. it then started again but wasnt running right so drove it for 3 miles and parked up. Its not running as it should feels lumpy and when u put ur foot down theres very little power.
any suggestions please?

Post by: Steve Baker on May 22, 2010, 06:29:48 pm: I had a similar problem last November BUT mine only restarted a couple of times before failing at 75mph in the outside lane of the M2!! and needed a tow. Turned out to be an injector had gone down!!!

Post by: PDT on May 23, 2010, 10:52:48 am: any sounds of a boost leak? any smoke? My guess is that the VNT mechanism in the turbo is stuck but as someone has mentioned, get it scanned. Someone on here will have Vagcom locally.
