Title: Timing belt chirp
Post by: Nickyboy on May 24, 2010, 01:56:03 pm
Is there a cheap fix to stop the belt rubbiing off the plastic cover or does it have to be tensioner replacement?

Hi Mate,

I have an Edition 30 March 07. Just before the warranty expired, I took it in to the VW dealership for them to look over. There was a chirp coming from the cam belt cover/tensioner. They agreed to fix under warranty and replaced the cam belt at the same time  :happy2:

Cambelt tensioner is the problem. Belt would get replaced aswell.

Its nothing to do with the cover etc
