Hi all as part of my minor improvements programme I need to replace the centre console fascia.
Not entirely clear from this pic but the paint job by a previous owner is poor and flaking.
Does anyone know the costs and part numbers?
Note from the pic the vents are painted too. They are bearing up ok though.
Half considered removing and attempting to strip it back but it's sure to not work correctly. Hope someone can assist vw parts are useless at my local stealers. It's the mfd2 version.

I wish there were OE options to change the colour of the vent/stereo surrounds. It's only a minor detail but I hate the idea of painting over the icons showing the vent open and closed.

Yeah...a nice brushed alu finish would be nice (if done well).....my side vents are ok, but the centre piece particularly the lower climatronic fascia is scratched....its doin' my head in.
Anyway, New one on the way...next to find a how to re the removal of the parts etc...need to get some trim tools as well I think.

The Golf match has a silver fascia

Looks good, but not a fan of the half and half...
Interesting info re: the Golf Match - might have to look into that.

What about the stuff that came in the Jetta is that still available or would it be the same part number thats no longer available?

and I thought car manufacturers had to keep spare parts available for a car for 10 years at least from final production under European law?

Does anyone know if it's inevitable that the air bag light comes on? Is there a way round it?
Just answered my own question. You don't need to dis the hazard switch or the airbag light just the small top sensor near the windscreen.
All done took 20 mins taking much care. I'll post before and afters tomorrow. Time for a curry. It's looks way better, I'm pleased.
Now every time I enter the car I won't beat myself up for not sorting it lol.
Next up sideskirts I think :-)
