i see loads of replica vw audi and bbs wheels , but how do we spot the fakes ??? any ideas

Have a quick search as someone asked this specifically about BBS recently and Phil from PW Motorsport gave quite a detailed explanation.  :happy2:

just type bbs fake theres loads of stuff.....Iv seen some second hand ones , guy says genuine but how can you be sure...

i have been looking into this and don't quote me on this but easy spot is the holes between the bolting holes as in 5 studs with smaller holes between.

The position of the writing the fakes are not on the radial face if you know what i mean, look in the forsale section on here at bbs fakes 18" and google some original ones you will see the differance.

 i found thrads on here very useful as always  :happy2:

not sure but replicas shouldnt have the bbs stamp on them.. The amount of weights to balance them and also the weight will be alot more with replicas original bbs wheels are much lighter

i done the search on the fakes aswell, but say you bought ed30 wheels and they look genuine with correct stamping how else can you tell as i just bought a set and they look the real deal with bbs, vw all the offset sizes etc on the back of the wheel?

dont think their is a replica edition 30 wheel. well iv not seen any before they have no motorsport engraved on them they are just plain and are in a light antrasite coulour im sure

oh ok, my wheels arrived today at ill have them on the car at the weekend and post up some before and after pics also some on the logos on the wheels im sure there genuine wheels but i could be wrong, hope not lol.
