there probably remebered how much of a flop the mk4 2.0l 8v. that thing did not do anything for the GTi Brand!

Shame there was no mk4, although not the best (with exception of the 25th Anni model) at least it got a decent engine - the 1.8T.

Agree, never been as keen on the mk3.

yeah the mk3 always seems like a diluted golf stopgap, loved the mk4 1.8t some happy B-road days in one of them and its total lack of traction and understeer

^^^^
So your problem is nowhere to keep your Mk2?

The preferred order was no surprise!.......

1st - Mk2
2nd - Mk5
3rd - Mk1
4th - Mk3
5th - Mk4

Of course they big'd up the Mk6 but their pics of the Mk6 GTI disappointed me - Looks like a Mk5 with a bolted on Scirocco front! Doesn't look right in their pic angles.

It's the major driver for it at the moment, plus I'd free up some spending for the MK5 budget  :happy2:

With the massive power your Ed30 now has, I'd be seriously considering a Quaife. But it's such a slippery slope

^^^ If his is anything like mine it's got to be brakes next  :driver:

....Yes! I know what you mean - You need the whole package! To best handle the power, you need brakes, Quaife and suspension imo

The WALK kit seems to have all but eradicated some of the traction issues I have. Just need to try it in the wet now. So the order will be:

1. Brakes
2. LSD
 etc etc etc  :rolleye:
