Need some advice, some of you may have read my car mad love to lamp post last week so got an r32 rear end and looking at milltek exhausts.
What others are on the market & should i get resonated or non resonated. I don't want it drone on as i travel quite far to work.
All advice appreciated
Thanks.

Resonated Blueflame :happy2:

.
Milltek, Blueflame, and APR are the favourites.
I'm a Milltek fan boy - Custom quads on a R32 rear'd GTI.

He specifically stated that he doesn't want something that drones...

Thanks will look into them, is flee bay the cheapest place to get a milltek ?
is the milltek non-res loud, by this i mean the dredded drone on long trips ? I am leaning towards a milltek as i like the tips, won't be long now though bumber and front skirt getting painted next week just need to decide on exhaust
Thanks for the replys. :happy2:

Blueflame TBE is amazing... no drone at all... in fact its quieter than standard sometimes !!!!! :surprised: :happy2:

....Hmm, I'm not sure how good any aftersales service will be if you buy off ebay. Best to buy either direct or from an approved Milltek dealer.
Resonated is quieter than Non-Resonated.. Millteks have been known to drone in the past.. The black tips in my pic aren't standard but can be ordered: Ceramic coated black satin and extremely practical needing minimal cleaning.
Sound is very subjective so check them all out. APR and Blueflame sound very sporty but harsher than the more sophisticated Milltek sound in my opinion. Depends what you prefer - They're all good.

Thanks Robin think i'll go for a milltek. Will have a look upto Revolution in Newcastle tomorrow se what they can do for me. Think ill get non res as well. Had a milltk on the clio (182) and liked it till i took the cat off, sounded nice but over longer trips it gets on ya t*ts.
BTW your car looks loooovley, as do many others on this site spending quite a lot of time reading some very interesting threads.
Thanks. :happy2:

Got a Milltek cat back non res on mine & it sounds great, even better with a few miles on it. No horrible noise for me at motorway speeds either. :happy2:
-
massively subjective, the GTI will be going resonated as needs to remain the sensible family car
Ceramic coated black satin and extremely practical needing minimal cleaning.
what do you use to clean em robin as i now have a laser etched pair :pomppomp:
-
i got a blueflame cat back when i converted my rear end to an r32. sounds waaaaay cool. no drone on motorway home at all.louder than standard but not silly.
looks the dogs (imo)
and i got that burble id always wanted
and the guys at blueflame were amazing! they were really helpful in every aspect! :happy2:

....It's a Meg's cream which Mr Milly sorted out for me. It's in the car in the garage - Remind me to show you at the meet soon.

Resonated Blueflame :happy2:
They dont do a non-res version for the GTI.

Just messing with you Robin - interesting article in Performance VW re: Miltek vs. Blueflame this month though.
And if you want a resonated Blueflame, they will make one for you!

Cheers - I shall pay a visit to my local WHSmith public library.

For the GTI they only do resonated, as the non-res would be silly loud. Mat asked them for a non-res version when i was there and they looked at him and pulled a face, They said just see how this goes first, we can make you one but we are sure this will be loud enough.
And they where correct.
You get the option with the R 32.

Look near the back - it's the article following their project Mk5 GTI, entitled something like; '...nothing I can't do with a race car...'
I think it was PVW... I never seem to pick up the same VW mag twice!
Sorry TC - I misread what you initially wrote. I'm hoping to fit a resonated Blueflame eventually. With rolled tips though, not slash-cut. Need to keep it OE looking.

Mike-B has a resonated Blue flame on his R, and its is very civilised. :happy2:

Out of interest what was the outcome of this ?
-
resonated milly is quieter than oem , non res is awesome , slight drone if im 100% honest on motorway but not enough to get on your nerves , road runner in notts will normally beat any price :happy2:
-
i would say resonated milltek you hear the roar when foot is down :)

The project GTI they are working on already had a Miltek system fitted, but they didnt like it due to the drone so ditched it in favor of a Blueflame.
