Initially I was a bit unsure about getting this app given the cost (£19.99) however after using it the cost is definitely worth it over the course of a season.
As long as you have a decent 3G or wireless connection you get live timing information from all practice sessions, qualifying and the race. You even get an interactive 3D race track that shows you where each driver is on the track. You can even rotate the track around using your finger to get different angles if you want. You can also view a table which shows all the sector times of each driver.
Coupled with that you get all the driver standings, manufacturer standings etc.
£20 may seem expensive however look at it this way it's just over £1 a race for a full season.
Works well on the iPhone but if you have an iPad it really comes into it's own.
Example of iPad in Portrait. (landscape puts the track full screen with driver order list at side)

Have you found a trouser pocket big enough to carry your Ipad yet carl?
Sorry but the bloke on F1 walking around with it looks a complete tool with it.
-
Yeah agree I wouldn't be walking round with it in my hand :stupid:
The Wife's hand bag is big enough though to fit it in if I'm with her :signLOL:. If not I just rely on the phone.
VC the timing app works on the iPhone swell as that's what I originally had it on.

anyone else think jake humphries looked like a tit waving his ipad around on the F1 qualifying.
-
Better than the nerdy clipboard though no?
-
not really. before today i had never noticed him waving anything around in his hands. that to me look like they are undersome sort of sponsorship deal with apple to get it in all the screen shots as possible

BTCC app would be handy..................and an iphone to view it on!

I may have an iPhone for sale depending on the cost of the new one when it gets released.

Go to www.formula1.com and view the live timing you get all that timing info for free, along with it colour coding them to show personal bests, fastest of anyone etc.
Also shows all weather conditions, track temp etc etc etc
The only thing ive yet to find anywhere that that app does do is the plotting cars on the track which i think would be very cool in a geeky way to have whilst watching the race for when things like pit stops happen, altho less so now there isnt any refuelling
