Title: Not Happy!!! Bodyshop Reccomendations Needed!
Post by: theo on May 29, 2010, 03:47:53 pm
Came back to my car earlier to find my rear bumper looking like this...

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Ftheo182%2FEdition_30%2FDamage.jpg&hash=e2705c490f98a5fb9def3bd88f141e57374f923e)

F@@King fuming does not even come close to summing up how I feel at the moment. I am one of these people who looks after my car like it is part of my body and now it looks like this  :sad1: Would have been quite nice if the idiot who did it left a note but oh well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good bodyshops in the Southampton/Portsmouth area. I want a good job doing as its going to be my money I want it doing properly.

Thanks in advance guys!

Peter Cooper at hedge end, (hate to say it) but there bodyshop is down in Bognor Regis. Ive had bodywork done from them when my Laser Blue Gti was rammed up the back. Did a perfect job and was well happy.
They collected the car, left a courtasy bus whilst mine was away, and delivered as arranged bang on time.
Ether that or Stricklands in southampton, near the college complex. (deanery Site) been doing work for years and years. Had two jobs done on my old  black Citreon C2 VTR , again very good.

Thanks Steve, I was looking at using them. Just waiting for them to come back to me for an estimate to repair. Also waiting to hear from a mate who works for BMW who have a good bodyshop and trimmers they use. Just REALLY frustrating. Why do people refuse to leave details too :(

gutting  :sad1:

the car park scars when they happen, the people that do them must surely know theyve done them?

mine got tagged to bare metal, no cctv though. where did you park? was there cctv coverage you can look at? although would mean small claims court if they have a notice saying cars parked at owners risk etc

Sorry to see that Theo, there are some real sh*ts out there.
Stu knows of one in the Portsmouth area that I can't for the life of me remember.

If all else fails I have a mate that runs one in Maidenhead.

Thanks again for that steve. Will contact them as well for an estimate.

VC, I am not totally sure, It might have happened when my car was at work last night, I am going to go and check the CCTV when I get to work tonight or it could have been one of several places in Southampton and Winchester I have been today. I only noticed it when I parked up at home. Its not like you wouldnt feel your car brushing against someone elses or even see it. Even if it was just a not saying sorry would make me feel better.

Thanks hedge, all recommendations appreciated!

Lowlife cowardly scumbags!!!! Who can't drive and have no pride in their own car? Either that or a member of the blue rinse brigade, who haven't even realised they've done it. Either way, sorry to see your pride and joy damaged mate.

I've had all my bodywork done by a company in Poole Dorset.
Creative Colour Workshop - a proper old family run business and Shaun, the guy who basically now owns the company is a magician with a spray gun.

Which one in Maidenhead?

I've used Parkford (no relation to Ford) in Maidenhead and they are excellent.

Boils my piss!

I put up a £500 reward for anyone who might have seen the person that drove along my car and pissed off in a car park

Unfortunately most people are ignorant and couldn't care less about other people, especially people with nice things (usually nicer than theirs)

Cheers for that Ian.

Had a couple of quotes today. Peter Cooper came back for a full respray of the rear bumper at £210+vat and Harwoods came in at £215+vat.

Its money I could be spending elsewhere, but sometimes thats the way life is I guess. Just have to put off on the RNS and Xenons a bit longer!
