Title: Air con
Post by: micky 32 on June 02, 2010, 04:38:28 pm
My car was lying up for a week due to being in the USA. When i started it up the air con gave a smell through the vents, a bit like smelly socks :scared:. It seem to clear after a few minutes. Is this normal when lying up in warm weather or does something need to be done with it?

Maybe the Pollen Filter needs changing...Same thing was happening on another one of my cars I changed the pollen filter and it stopped the smelly socks smell

Is it a DIY job?

Yes it is and you'll have to get your head down into the passenger footwell to look for it...

I think it's part of the optional AC service.

Only reason I ask is coz I've had the car serviced at 10k and 20k but at the mo, there's a bit of a smell in te car and it's only been recently. Obviously with the hot weather I'm using the AC.
