Hey all..
Just found this?? As the day is going to be so busy I think its worth doing (just done mine)
Also if the day is rained off then it can be used for another date..

Sorry if you all know about this already

can anyone remeber if i won this in the banner competition? haha!
-
It says sign on, on another date isnt guaranteed. Entrance is though .
Think i will just get mine at the gate
-
"If that date is rained off the voucher can be sent into the office and a new date booked or the voucher can be used at another RWYB day but sign is not then guaranteed"
I took that as meaning if you just turn up with the ticket with the incorrect date on it (even if that date was rained off) then it would only grant you entrance..
But if you have made prior arrangements by contacting them and exchanging the ticket for a new date (that I presume you would be issued with for that date) then it counts for sign on too..
Or, im wrong lol..

Unless it's gone up, it should only be £30 (£10 entrance fee and £20 to run).. So is this £35 include £5 to save having to queue?
-
No idea lol..
Its £36 delivered.. Anyways iv'e done it now, just wanted to make sure that I could at least run if im going, its a 500mile round trip for me so dont want to come all that way and not be able to get on..

Didn't you win the cruise control?
I know I won entrance to the Pod.
-
Hmm....even more difficult to decide now.
Was thinking of just turning up and doing a run or so ifI got the chance but given I might not have been able to make it, didn't make a big deal of it. But now I have to pay and there's no guarantee I'll be able to make it.

Just out of curiosity, are stock ED30s likely to be hitting 110mph across the finish line?
-
Yes Stealth, close to that
-
No chance of hitting over 110 in a stage 2+ed30 IMO
Benhas the bes terminal speed of 107.?mph
Nobody will need a helmet, maybe jonnyc will push the 110 barrier at the end of the 1/4 mile. I'll be very impressed if he does :happy2:

No chance of hitting over 110 in a stage 2+ed30 IMO so stock ed30 will be around 98-103mphish
Ben has the bes terminal speed of 107.?mph

out of interest is 'full driving licence' , both paper and card , or is the card only acceptable?

Just card is fine :happy2:
-
cheers luca :happy2:
booked too , then I only have to sign on, on the day.
-
Hmm tempted to book a ticket but if it gets rained off i know i'll never use it.
-
So you don't have to wear a helmet unless you run over 110 mph?
So take it I can do one run, if its over 110mph then I would have to wear a helmet next time?
I think ill make 110
Just checked out the figures, the fastest and quickest time recorded (and advertised) for a 2.0T FSI DSG FWD car is 12.74 @ 114MPH
That was a GT3071R MK5 GTI with roughly 400 crank HP..
Would be awesome to be quicker than that, but im pretty sure he was on drag slicks, so not much chance haha..
Think ill leave my helmet at home :happy2:
-
i dont understand why tickets are being talked about? you pay on the gate? if the meet doesnt go ahead ,you dont pay nothing?.
-
Just as the day is going to be so busy I wanted to make sure I could do a run as they must limit how many people per day can get signed on to run on the strip..
The entry on the gate is no probs, but you get that with the sign on fee when you pay online as I have
-
The helmet bit was what I was worried about.

is it best you register on the pod running list that the Hosts run . Hurdy is the best person to link you too it, so you have your quarter mile Car number. i cant remember which post he put it on here, but i registered Phylis, and have my race Car number.
-
I think its going to be so hard to get to go down the strip the ideal match as listed, you could
que all the way down, then get near to the start line and it all goes t1ts up.
Just got to keep your print outs as proof :happy2:

You will be fine if you do your first run and hit over 110mph just make sure you wear your helmet for your other runs. Bring a helmet just incase mate :happy2:
You can hire them there too iirc.

I think if you keep the print out's that would be the best way.. Can just post up your best time at the end of the day then and we can all compare.. :happy2:
I so hope that a MK5 GTI is the fastest FWD road legal car there on the day!
-
As Steve has said.. Just register on here and your best time will be automatically saved on the site along with a pic of your car. I registered last year in Oct when I went and it saved my best run of the day (1st one).. This way we can see how everyone got on (and they'll be no cheating )
-
my license is with the police :scared:
-
Oo bugger you will need it mate
-
Oo bugger you will need it mate
i have an old paper part
-
What, old as in the original paper type licence, or the paper part of the photo card type licence?
If it's the old type licence (pink one) then you'll be fine mate. If it's just the paper part of the photo card then you may struggle. best thing you can do mate is to ring them and explain and they may be ok..
-
