Was just having a butchers at some road test vids of the Golf R and found some nice comparison vids (same vs filmed from both cars) of the new R vs Mk6 GTI with remap. Both cars DSG and filmed at track event.
Also some interesting vids of some modded Cupra's at the same event from a company called Vtech (who obiously know how to tune a Cupra pretty well by the looks of things :surprised: as JB3 335i's are serious quick).
Think this one struggles with traction intially..
Enjoy..

nice vids :happy2:
would like to see what a mapped Golf R could do, but apparently they are v difficult to map...
we need a place in the UK where we can go and do this each weekend, i would be in

Tell me about it mate. Best way to compare a car's straight line performance IMO. Love the vids that M5Board do..

Good find mate :congrats:

Quite shocked how little there is between the remapped gti and the r? My neighbour who has a revo stage 1 gti test drove a Rocco r recenty and said it was lovely but they felt very similar performance wise and this backs that up!

Well the R may have 25bhp more. But it also has around an extra 200kgs to hump around too, so power to weight would favour the GTI to be fair. But the R has it when the speeds get high and bhp comes into play.

Would be good to see the same 'races' from standstill as well.

Me and wayne do this every other weekend already
But your wish is our command, just finding the venue is proving a little tickier than we thought, basically ones that are long enough and havent been scared off after what happened to that 9ff porsche

Not to mention the fact that it would slaughter the GTI if it were mapped as well. We already know what a mapped S3 is capable of.
