So to cut a very long story short, I had a "friend" do me a favour/home job.
I was bought new eibach springs and he fitted them for me, but he didnt tell me that i should have upgraded my shocks. And now i have allot of problems.
He destroyed the ABS Harness.. and smashed the brackets that they bolt onto on both sides. They itself has caused me nothing but annoyence and more cost! He has nocked my tracking out and has burst my cv gaitors and broken that seal thing in the middle of the spring.
So im told by a vw specialist i need to fix it all and he recomended upgrading my shocks - but does that mean if i upgrade my shocks they will included the struts? are they the same thing? Or two seperate? and what would you recomend?
Cheers for any help guys, i want all this fixed once and for all so i can stop worrying.

What eibach springs are they?
The eibach pro springs are meant to work with the standard shocks but if your shocks have covered a lot of milage then it's best to change them as they will fail prematurely with the lowered springs.
The shocks have struts as part of the unit.

you tracking would have been ou after fitting lowering springs, that is unavoidable.
id advise getting something like koni FSD or bilstein dampers o mate to your lowering springs. much much better than stock

I'd also get them fitted by someone who knows what they're doing. Unless all them parts are unavoidably broken in the process?

whats your budget?

Well a vw mechanic specialist in my area quoted for bilstein fronts 60 each but I've been scouring about and I found a full kit for like 150- front and rears. I'm tryig to do it on a tight budget as the misses birthday is coming up. So the new shocks come with struts?

the front shocks and struts are the same thing :happy2:
