Title: Retro Fitting DSG Paddles to a MFSW?
Post by: nc35 on June 07, 2010, 05:45:25 pm
Hi All
I have an early DSG car without the DSG steering wheel paddles. Seems strange I know.

Just wondering what are the pitfalls when fitting a new steering wheel?
Seen lots of MFSW without paddles and cheap paddles from Germany.

Can all three be put together easily or will I have  problems with controllers and the steering wheel ring?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi NC35 (one of those little Honda beauties?)

You'll need a bit more than just a wheel I'm afraid, but I had mine done by Ben at Shark performance today and I'm really glad I did.
He is away at Le Mans from tomorrow, but you can check out his site http://www.sharkperformance.co.uk/ (http://www.sharkperformance.co.uk/) for more information about his services which include MFSW upgrades.

You will need a wheel controller, an airbag and some coding, so not a straight swap but well worth it. :jumpmove:

Yep one of those little 400 cc flying machines. First bike, like a first love never forgotten. Lol.  Also had the RC35 for a little while. Now a Ducati slave.

Will ask Darren seems to be up on these things. Air bag is a straight swap over. Just wondered how the paddles would retro fit.
Think I have the correct slip ring & controller but need to double check.

No probs with vcds either. Managed to retro fit cc with little drama.

Thanks for the reply.
