I came from a diesel too. I'm spending lot more time on petrol station forecourts now!  :grin: I've been driving in Manual mode a lot lately as I've gotten to grips with it now, and I dont seem to get better than 18mpg. Worth it for the blips on the down shift though!  :happy2:

And I agree with the modding, with loads of toys as standard and little to be gained from the engine without spending silly money, there's arguably very little to be done. A few choice chasis mods are all I'm planning for the time being.

I am normally mid to high 20's, similar to my Ed30.

I am normally mid to high 20's, similar to my Ed30.

In 'D' I am hitting similar figures, but in manual mode I tend to rev higher in lower gears and enjoy the noise  :laugh:

deffo getting more than 18mpg,

reckon 25-28ish....

had it in D for the most part and have gave it a little shoe here and there naturally :)

its not as bad as people have made it out to be to be honest :)

You're not trying hard enough, I've almost had it down to single figures. Racking up the Shell Plus Points already!  :happy2:

Have you checked Capristo prices?  :rolleye:

I've never personally heard one, but the growing consensus seems to be that Blueflame exhausts are less boomy when cruising compared to Milteks.

aye, not sure I can justify spending 2k on a system, that and I couldn't bloody afford to lol

spent a good few hours on her tonight

Stripped off the dealer wax -  :ninja:
Complete degrease with Citrus Degreaser
Foamed with Megs Hyperwash (strong mix)
G101 all trim,shuts,panel gaps
G101 Arches, Tyres, Wheels (need a refurb badly)
Washed 2BM with DG901 (strong mix)
Rinsed and dried off
Didn't bother polishing - needs machined so not going to waste my time by hand.
Wax - Colly 476s
Trim with CG New Look Trim Gel
Arches with Megs All Seasons
Tyres with Zaino Z16
and as i type this i know ive forgotten to do the exhausts!! (amateur lol)

Well i took some time today to start getting her properly upto standard and took a wee trip to halfrauds for some hammerite smooth paint.

discs looked quite poor with the surface rust so freshened them up (cheers feet and mikey for the banter and the shot of the jack lol)

gave them a lick of paint and some copper slip as the nuts and faces were binding quite badly!

let it dry for around an hour and took it round the block to burn the excess off the discs :)

you can mask, i brush painted them and the excess is removed in seconds when you go for a hurl :)

you couldnt tell i didnt mask it off looking at it now

My GF Kara hit a fox this mornin on her way to work :(

not much damage apart from a smashed lower grille on the passenger side, new part ordered up and should be here Friday £32 I could have spent on summin else though!! Lol

new mk6 golf R pad retainers to liven the look of the brakes up a little :)

quite like the sticker colours, though the brands are a bit played out for my liking.
Also hate the bags for groceries one (can't think why..... :signLOL:)

Though so wish I had held out for a GTI in that colour, looks so nice!

got the brakes done today only took me about and hour, took the chance to clean out the arches and level the front as the passenger side was about 8-10mm higher

Looks great mate , got to say i was a fan of both wheels you had on quite liked the s4 ones tbh, although there are better ones out there, ive never liked those multispoke r32 wheels although i do think the omyt??? Whatevers look good, as do the vmrs, lms and chs in black !  Its pretty low are you getting any rubbing ? Roughly how much have you dropped it.

its prob about 120-140mm lower than std,havent measured it to be exact!

 had proper rubbing on the front but had the arches cut and rolled flat now its perfect no srcub or rub at all even on full lock :)

the undertray catches part of the road if its a funny camber or humped in the middle, though not much of a problem :)

the newer R32 wheels are omanyt the ones i have there are zolder. i hate both. lol

well ordered up a few things for the R this week, entire sound system cos the one thats in isnt exactly the greatest!

went for:

RNS510 Version C with LED screen

MK6 R RVC Reverse Camera (hidden in rear badge/boot handle)

thanks to SteveP for these :D :D

and

Hertz ESK163L front 3 way components

Hertz ESK165L rear 2 way components

also got an R32 Service pack from Opie Oils so hopefully ill get the oil dropped from her and the new stuff in sunday if it arrives tomorrow
