anyone running this size on a lowered mk5 ?
-
You would prob be better of with 245/35/18, side wall would be about the same height as stock, what is the width of your rim?
-
i think they are 8 or 8 1/2 inch . i will have to check
-
potential rubbing issues when cornering id bet with all the extra grip and being lowered etc, . those spec tyres would also be expensive. maybe spec 235tyres in kumho hard compiound or R1R maybe
-
Do you have adjustable top mounts?
If so then you could get them in with the right width and offset wheel.
8" wheel maybe too narrow for a 245 section tyre.
:happy2:

i reckon 245 would be close-ish to rubbing and 35 is better than 40 as there will be less sidewall flex.
try 235/35/18

I run 235/40 18s on standard Monza 2s with standard suspension (alrite, standard apart from WALK and Whiteline adjustable ARBs). I get NO rubbing, and I get a more accurate speedo.

Anyone with 235/40 R18 R-compund on a 8x18 ET44 ??
I wonder if I'll have rubbing. :sad1:

I am running 245/40R18 Nitto NT-05's, im not lowered pretty much stock euro height but i have 130kg (740 lb/in) and 90kg (513 lb/in) which is why i prob dont rub.. Im on 18x8 et 45 Team Dynamic Pro Race wheels..
My new plans will to run a staggered setup, 18x9 upfront running 265/35R18 and an 18x8 rear running 245/40R18
I think i can pull it of running -3 degree camber upfront and -2 degree's rear :)

Guess you talk about your spring rates.
Which dampers suit such stiff springs?

Very interesting !! :happy2:
Sadly these dimensions are hardly legal in Germany.

Im on AST dampers at the moment, issue is they are getting old, i got them for a good price, my rear right shock is blown, and i feel that the front left isn't doing a very good job dampening right now, so ill be looking for a new set of custom valved shocks to meet these spring rates, or to get mine rebuilt at ast.

Or a KW Clubsport?
