Title: Refurb, Respray? What should i do with my rims?

Well, as we know Mrs rim killer Cherry introduced one of my wheels to a granite kerb about a week ago, and as its a diamond cut face on these they are heading off to a specialist company.  Here's the thing, should i leave them well alone? just get the one rim machined again and then back to gun metal?

or should i get them to do some painting? add a bit of candy white maybe? the whole rim? just the center? just the inner dish and between the spoke lines? with the others to match obviously

i like them as they are, but i cant help thinking opportunity is knocking, and for a bit more of spend i could do something else with them for a while? the other rims are mint so they could be left alone and 1 refurb is cheaper than 4 after all... hmmm what to do?

im liking those rims mate  :drool: think id just get it refurbed. u not had them on long have u? keep that look for a bit if not  :happy2:

Just get the 1 properly refurbed, those were probably expensive, and will have a greater re-sell value in OEM condition.  If you mess with them you cut down your potential market. (with my sensible head on)

+1 for no CW. Potentially black 'inserts' bit like the monza II shadows but would need to see a photoshop. They look gorgeous as they are.

i know, shame on me  :laugh: ive tried everything on them and nothing shifts... except large amounts of skin from my knuckles  :fighting2:

VC you need to contact JPC and have his white R32 Brakes on your car ask him for some pics.

Trust me matey I know brakes and they would look awesome on the mighty V6 fridge...

PS Just the one wheel refurbed same as the other 3 for me

Just do it on an exchange basis he'll still be looking for some R32 stuff (i.e.yours) for his new car...   :happy2:

As far as my brakes are concerned, they are sold unfortunately, BUT, i would definitely have a set powder coated again. they look as fresh as they did when i fitted them. Being white, you might think they were a pig to clean, but not at all. some good wheel cleaner, a pressure washer and your rocking!

Honestly VC, they are brilliant.

What i did was get dave to send me a new set of calipers powder coated in white, then swap my calipers with the new ones, then sent dave the old ones plus some cash! great job!

+1 for white calipers. Much better than painting parts of the rim white.
