Mike, where's the dyno run being done?  I'm off Tuesday. Could also find you somewhere cheaper unless you want the same dyno.

back from AMD now. It seems like AMD have in fact had their RR calibrated to give accurate figures.

Its confirmed mine does require an intercooler as the second run suffered heat soak again, so that is my next mod.  happy with the output though, torque came in nice and early, with a nice plateau of power from 5k onwards.
shrak performance stage 1 rempa, stock everything else

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fxx202%2Fsimonskerton%2Fstage1sharkperformace13-06-10004.jpg&hash=737321bcbe95ee7b178b37cf2f713640f84572dd)

from memory DomT made 320Hp 320Ibft, hedge made 248hp(i think), roberts 251hp 275Ibft,  and the 5.7litre V8 corvette made................................................................

260Hp   but to be fair it sounded biblical

Title: Re: AMDessex RR Results
Post by: Janner_Sy on June 13, 2010, 05:35:44 pm
he said it had just been calibrated recently, we think it was done as a result of him tuning his BTCC golf on his rollers.  they would have to make sure that it doesnt make more than the maximum allowed 280Hp output.

roberts made 250Hp this time as a pose to 260hp last time so it looks like they have moved it towards a more accurate figure.  which can only be good.

DSG change up @6.2k rpm or thereabouts.

It would probably produce more power if it could get to 7k.

Got to love the Yank motors sometimes.. I went up against this SC'd Mustang at Pod last year and the bloke told me it was over 500bhp. I remember bogging it a bit off the line and when he got ahead I thought game over as I aint going to get near it once the speeds got higher.. I passed him just before the line.. (with one of my crapper runs too)  :signLOL:

From the EVOMS maybe half a dozen ponies and a smidge of torque but nothing really from the exhaust.

There is a theory that the loss of the 'flapper' will reduce the torque but who cares.

looking at yours   thast a good strong graph there, would be interested to see what caused he hiccup in the middle, it seems your torque holds up better than mine later in the RPM band as well.  wander if the performance  panel filter helps that, a little, i might get one as a little stop gap before i et another intake.
^^Why did they do the RR in 5th gear?
they use this gear as it is ' the closest 1:1 gear ratio.  (although others use 4th and say the same).  Like hedge though, im not sure if it would have a bearing.  It should make roughly the same power, in 4th or 5th id guess, just with a longer period to run upto the redline, so you'll get a higher sample rate for the graph

Title: Re: AMDessex RR Results
Post by: bacillus on June 15, 2010, 03:06:36 pm
I think as you say 4th is "the closest 1:1 gear ratio". This would help in the coast down calculation for transmission losses.

reassuring that AMD have recalibrated and getting sensible numbers, before it was doing them an injustice
