Title: Just put a deposit down on a mk5 gti!
Post by: Gtiain on June 15, 2010, 08:50:45 pm
Hi all!

I joined the forum a few weeks back and finally got round to putting a deposit down on a mk5 gti! I pick the car up next wed! I absolutly can't wait!

The car is an 07 plate with 40,000 miles on the clock. It's a pretty standard spec apart from dsg, leather and bluetooth. However I plan to get some 18" monzas and the RNS510 system.

Is the best place to get this stuff from eBay or can anybody recomend anywhere else? Thanks in advance guys.

Make sure the DSG service has been done.  :happy2:

And you will probably pick both items up on your wish list on here. Keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section.

Hi thanks!
After how many miles does the dsg service need doing? Also how much is it?  I'm buying it from a vw dealer so I presume they wouldn't sell it if it needed doing soonish?

Thanks for the advice I'll keep my eyes peeled!  :happy2:

Its at 40,000 seeing you post that is what reminded me. They should definitely throw it in as part of the deal. cant remember the cost it can vary wildly. Think its about £200.  :happy2:

You would think VW garages would know the correct servicing schedule, but Im currently in discussion with a garage, ans customer services as I was miss-lead regarding the cambelt change, which despite being sold as an approved used car I now find out it wasnt serviced as per current VW spec!  So better to be sure before you accept the car, and if in doubt seek confirmation from customer services.   :sad1:
