Title: Arch Rolling Up North
Post by: Cooper on June 16, 2010, 10:16:27 am
Anybody know of anywhere up North (closer to Teesside the better) that's any good at Arch rolling? Willing to travel to have them done but don't want to be going too far!

Want to get my Rears flared as they are rubbing like hell since putting my Splits back on already need re-painting as the paints cracked from the tyres catching so figured I might aswell get them flared a little before re-painting.

Any recommendations?

Cheers  :happy2:

Nope, on an E46 beemer. There's no point rolling the arches on a mk5 as there is virtually no lip and therefore no real gains to be had. You can stretch the arch, but I have yet to see it done well on a mk5 due to the shape of the arch.

There is no arch to roll on the MK 5 rears you would get maybe a mil if you were lucky, you can get them to pull them a bit but this would be a big risk of damage.  :scared:

I just want the rears pulled a little as they are rubbing all the time, already need re-painting due to the rubbing so might aswell get them pulled save them getting wrecked again

Would smaller/thinner tyres not sort it?

I'm already running with a bit of stretch, got 225/40's on a 9.5" rim, don't really want to go any further than that with the stretch.

did you manage to get your rear arches flared mate?

i know im bringing this thread up from a good while ago but im having some issues with my arch catching my rim if going over a bump on a corner. doesnt always happen, happened about 3 times but has chipped a bit of the paintwork off which ill obviously need to get sorted so i am now in the same position as you where....

arches need repainting etc but i want to get them pushed out a bit first.

is this even possible? or would i need to look at having arches cut out + wider ones installing?

the rears? and you have a leon not a mk5. by looking at the arches iv no idea how they would be flared. basically im wanting the lip of my arch pushing out as its the actual lip (not the inside of the arch) which is catching my wheel.

My advice was AKS is somewhere to approach for advice as I know he has the equipment and experience to do it  :happy2:

Hope you get it sorted, I know how frustrating scrubbing can be since I fitted TT lower arms I've had a right headache with arch contact  :sad1:

thanks man, i really wana get it sorted as i love my 3sdm wheels on atm and i dont really wana get rid of them for the sake of a damn arch haha!

iv been having a look for a while and im reading that it can be done and other people are saying to have the arch cut and then a wider arch welded etc which sounds like way too much work! haha
