Car was MOT'd in Feb 2010, 2 rear wheel bearings replaced under warranty. Started to make a strange sound rear passengers side on Friday, took it to Kwik Fit on a Sunday as I needed to use the car and they told me wheel bearing collapsed. Wheel bearing replaced by Kwik Fit for £180.
Phoned VW today and they said nothing they can do because it's not on the car anymore and wasn't looked at by them. Kwik Fit gave me the faulty part away.
Do i just accept that that sh*t happens or should I pursue it further?

i would pursue it further..charging you £180 is day light robbery thou

i agree with maxitrol daylight robbery. i once had tyres fitted by kwik fit was quoted a price on the phone after they were fitted they tried to charge me double after an argument they reduced the price but i sent them a letter of complaint with a bill for identical tyres fitted a week earlier at another tyre depot and they refunded the difference the fitter told me to do this but not to broadcast it. he also told me he never buys anything from work as its far to expensive buys all his parts from local factor

Just had both of mine done for less than that!!!
Got a little job working for local vw indie garage (after I got the parts)
Gen VW bearing/hub is £122+vat been told that the vw part is not the best quality too.
Bought some German OEM ones. Fitting takes about 20 mins each.
I would take the complaint further. Don't VW gtee parts for 2yrs?

If it's done under warranty there is no warranty on parts or labour.
