Not too sure if I'll get an answer to this one, as I've had no joy on any line of enquiry so far.
So here goes! :grin:
In the two pictures below, in the top left corner of the display one shows a compass and the other doesn't.
Mine is the one that doesn't! And I don't know why
When it was in the garage the other week they had a quick look on VCDS to see if it was an option to adjust, but no joy.
So any of you wizz kids out there let me know what you think. :notworthy:

In the can gateway in vcds you need to have module 37 ticked otherwise you will have no nav in the highline.

Lower pic is GTI clocks, top looks like bogo golf ones if this helps ?.

It shouldnt make a difference to what is displayed.
Darren is probably right in what he says.

Thanks Morty, I'll be chuffed if that sorts it out.
I can call up the sat nav display onto the main part of the display when I cycle through the modes (see photo below), but it's the little compass at the top that is always showing that I don't get.
Does that still mean it's the same answer Morty? :smiley:

Hooo now thats thrown me abit if navigations wasn't present in the Can Gateway you wouldn't be able to get into the Nav settings at all on the Highline?????
Where abouts are you, are you near enough to Leeds for me to have a gander at it? or if someone else can have a quick scan of the navigation.

Thanks for getting back to me, sadly I'm down in sunny Bournemouth but if there is anyone about to have a look it would be great!
It's obviously not essential just a nicety, but it's doing my head in trying to figure out why it's different (not there) :confused:
At least my question was right and I'm not going mad :grin:

Does it ever display the the compass arrow and direction in the top left?

Which sat nav do you have? The compass only comes with the RNS510. :smiley:

Hi Steve, no never seen it in the top corner. I have had the display checked at APD in Poole and all the pixels are working.
They didn't have the time to look further into it for me though. I can't help but feel it's just an option to select within the software, but just don't know where at the mo!
Oh and I don't have VCDS or I'd play myself.
I've got the MFD2 ver B, and it does have the little compass in the corner, cause when I bought the car all the other cars I tested with the same satnav had that displayed

I had an MFD2 in my Octavia which had no compass until I put the RNS 510 in.
Perhaps some other MFD2 users can confirm the compass or not. :smiley:

Yeah, I've had both the CD and DVD version MFD2, and both displayed the compass arrow in the Highline screen, as does my new RNS-510.
Darren's right in that normally you can't get access to the Nav menus (and therefore the compass arrow) if the [37] Navigation module isn't checked in the Can Gateway ? Very strange......
Do you also have the Audio menu present (second one down from the MFD) ? Can you post up a photo of your main Highline menu's ?

Yep, I have the audio display..... Everything else seems ok - All menus present and correct. Just no Pesky Compass!!! :jumping:
I'll post some photo's of all the menus after I go out and get them later this morn!
And just for info it was a factory install - not retro fit :smiley:

Hi guys, sorry been away for a while so this post has slipped a bit, but still don't think there is an answer for this one yet. :P
As I think I've already said I know it's only a niff-naff question but it's bugging the hell out of me as to why I don't get that small compass at the top of the Highline.
Perhaps it's just some quirky VW option (or lack of) that only ran for a short while.....I don't know :confused:
Just will somebody tell me something that makes sense to explain this annoying little question. And then my life can move on..... :ashamed:

^^^ mine looks exactly like yours. I get the compass in the main part of the display not the top. Mfd2, no idea on version. I'm a model year 2006. Noticed some have AST in top left of highline, always wondered what that was I have never seen it on mine.

WEELLSY, I know you dont have VCDS cable yourself, but check out the vagcom register to see if there is a member local to bournemouth, As to help move this forwards I think some details about the model number of your modules and the coding would be very helpful.
Ideally it would also be good to get coding detail and module detail from a MFD2 user with highline who has it working for comparison, hopefully someone on here can help with that part.
