Title: Stereo Upgrade options
Post by: coop on June 28, 2010, 12:10:54 am
Hey, Just picked up a 07 GTi with 6 CD changer and ipod connector. Don't know if i'm missing something but the ipod connector seems crap, I cant search by artist or even change tracks on the ipod itself without disconnecting it first.

Just wondering what my upgrade options are if I want to get better ipod functionality or built in Hdd.

The original VW ipod adpator was pretty limited

What head unit do you have fitted, if you have a RCD310,RCD510 or RNS 510 then you can retro fit the MDI which gives full control of your ipod

cool, RNS 510 it is then, are they straight forward to fit? is it just a case of swap it over or will I have to go to VW to get it re-coded.

A little bit of coding required, lots of members here can help out with the coding via vagcom/VCDS rather than going to the dealer
