I have just fitted a bsh pcv fix kit to my edition 30. The problem im having is when i put my foot down the car splutters and sort of back fires out off the exhaust, feels really bad.
On tick over its perfectly fine so im guessing there is no leak.
I have refitted the original pcv and the problem goes away.
Any ideas welcome, cheers.

If it was me, id stick a new oem one on, less then £30. As you say its fine on the factory one, then stick with that. It works :happy2:

Im pretty sure you have a worn cylinder, get a compression test done.
pressure slips past the piston and vents to the intake manifold via your original pcv. when fitting the BSH ocv fix stage 1 you block the escape route of the excessive pressure and it then stays inside the engineblock restricting the pistons going down.
as long as you keep the original pcv you won't get any noticable decrease in performance of the engine.

If that was the problem, wouldn't it be using a lot of engine oil even with the standard pcv?

no, as the pressure from the cylinder is greater than the one under the piston.
My mates didn't show anything out of the ordinary before he tried the pcv fix

Not sure buddy! I average around 30 mpg with the PCV fix... I have noticed lately though that I am having to top up the oil more often.
One for the forum members...should I fall back to the OEM PCV to help resolve the poor fuel consumption and oil needing to be topped up?
Not sure what the compression stuff was all about in the earlier post...can anyone explain that as well pls.
