Hi guys,
Just thought I’d share the fruits of my mammoth (for me) 2 day detailing session I’ve just completed on my ED30. The paint was in terrible condition thanks to the previous owner so I decided it was about time I tried to sort it out with my Megs G220 polisher. I found, as everyone says, the paint to be incredibly hard and almost impossible to remove any swirls etc. and eventually I ended up using Menz power gloss on a Menz While compounding pad (ouch!) followed by Menz final finish on a Menz orange polishing pad. This seemed to remove I’m guessing around 80% of the swirls etc. and to be honest I’m pretty scared of doing any more as I don’t have a paint depth gauge!
The full process was:
- Foam / wash / clay / dry the car
- Menz Power Gloss on an white compounding pad
- Menz FF (PO85RD) on an orange polishing pad
- AG super resin polish (to try and fill any swirls left)
- Chemical guys EZ Glaze
- Poorboys EX-P sealant
- Collinite 476S wax
- AG glass polish on the windows
- Megs endurance tyre gel on the tyres
Phew!! It was bloody hard work let me tell you!. Overall I’m pretty pleased with the results but any tips/comments/suggestions/improvements/criticisms are more than welcome! And here are the results, hope you enjoy…

looking nice mate. With regards to the rest of the swirls, and paint depth. You'd have to do something very very stupid to get thru the paint of an Edition 30 with a G220!
your only "scratching" the surface!
;)
Well done
