Title: Traffic updates on rns510
Post by: Gtiain on July 04, 2010, 07:03:39 pm
Hi again,
I thought that the traffic updates feature on the rns 510 was something that you needed to subscribe to? However I seem to be getting them. I think it's a great feature as I was redirected yesterday due to traffic and didn't run into any. tWas great.

I think it uses the traffic information from one of the radio stations that you preselect. Sometimes useful. Sometimes not.

It uses the traffic info signal that is broadcast piggyback on the commercial radio network. It's the same signal that traffic info capable TomTom units use. There is no subscription necessary.
